Monday, June 1

For today's blog post include the following:
  • the plans for your hike - where are you going? when? how long (days/miles)?
  • list of items and weights + overall weight
  • what was this process like? what decisions did you have to make? what was your thought process?
It was a perfect day to stay indoors since it was rainy and cold. Here's what we did:

Morning
watched clips about Cheryl Strayed, Wild, the PCT, and listened to a reading from her memoir about her backpack, "Monster"
Planning a Hike activity: students chose a hike destination, figured out what supplies they would take and how much it would weigh; they put weights in a hiking bag to test how it would feel
started watching Fly Away Home

Afternoon
finished Fly Away Home
yoga & meditation (using meditation scripts from Friday)

*Tomorrow is our trip to Eastwood for kayaking and hiking; students, please make sure you bring your signed permission packet!
